Here, 2,400 miles west of Chile, is one of the world’s great travel experiences. Get ready to explore Easter Island, 45 square miles of mind-boggling mystery that has defied explanation for centuries. In "Rapa Nui" Eye of the God- as it is known to natives, you will see great "towering stone-faced statues that stare out in eerie silence at the eternal sea. It was named Easter Island by its Dutch discoverer who found It on Easter Day in 1722.

Day 02 -  Santiago

Transfer to the airport for flight to mysterious Easter Island. Arrive and transfer to your hotel  TAHA TAI for overnight. (B)

Day 05 - Easter Island

A morning tour will begin with a visit to the archaeological zone of Tahai. There you will see the famous gigantic statues. From there, you will go to the local museum started by Father Sebastian Englert. The tour will proceed to Ahu Vinapu with its incredible stone walls similar to those built by the ancient Incas. The architecture of these walls is sometimes used as an argument to support the theory that the early islanders came from South America. In the afternoon, you will visit the archeological sites of Rano Kao, Orongo and Vinapu.  Return to your hotel for overnight. HOTEL TAHA TAI. (B)

 

Day 06 - Easter Island

Our full day tour will start with a visit to the ruins of Vaihu. From there, the tour will proceed to the Ranu Raraku volcano’s quarry which is the classical symbol of the island and original factory of the moai. The statues can be admired in the different stages of production, from carving in the rock to upright position and lying face down on their intended road to the platforms. Then you will continue to Ahu Tongariki, formerly the biggest platform on the island, which was destroyed by a tidal wave in 1960, and from there past La Perouse Bay to the beautiful archaeological zone of Anakena Beach where you will be served your pic-nic lunch next to the beach and near to Ahu Nau Nau. Retun to your Hotel via Vaitea Road. HOTEL TAHA TAI.  (B).

 

Day 07 -  Easter Island

Day 02 SANTIAGO

Day 03 SANTIAGO  Vina & Valparaiso

Full day excursion to Vina del Mar -Chile’s main sea side resort and stop at the port of Valparaiso. Travel out of Santiago past the vineyards, farms, orchards and olive plantations of Curacavi and Casablanca valleys. At the coast, drive along the beaches of Las Salinas and Reñaca to Viña del Mar, a town Chileans refer to as “Ciudad Jardín” due to its parks, flower beds and gardens. The beach is the resort’s main draw, however, and visitors and locals alike make use of Costanera Avenue and the oceanfront promenade in the shadows of the imposing Casino Municipal. Follow España Avenue to neighboring Valparaíso, a port christend by the Spanish in 1536. Climb up, down and around these narrow twisty streets—the city is balanced on some 40 hills—and pause at the water front to watch the ships, boats and fishermen in the bay. The tour proceeds to the heart of the city, the Plaza Sotomayor, a pleasant sanctuary, opposite the Maritime Authority.  Just beyond this is Muelle Prat, the pier complete with small crafts market. Lunch (not included) can be had at one of the many restaurants that border the beach; the perfect opportunity to sample the port’s famously fresh fish and seafood. For the afternoon, visit La Sebastiana, another of poet Pablo Neruda’s homes-turned-museums, ride one of the city’s many elevators, an effective mode of moving about this largely verticle port back at the turn of the century. Ascendor Artillería, built in 1898, is one of the oldest still in operation and offers a beautiful view of the ocean. Finally, enjoy a drive through the financial and commercial districts before setting out for Santiago through the Curacavi Valley where traditional Chilean sweets and snacks are for sale. (B)

Day 05, 06, 07  EXPLORA IN ATACAMA

The program at Explora in Atacama, based at Hotel de Larache in the oasis of San Pedro, puts visitors in the middle of a fantasy where exploration, the leaving and returning, acquires a shape of its own. Here you will stay for 4 nights with full board (3 meals per day and wine). You will have daily explorations through Atacama's natural environment, and to the sites of pre-Columbian, colonial and contemporary cultures, offered according to program, with bilingual guides. The Atacama oasis, in the middle of the driest desert in the world, have an altitudinal peculiarity: they are situated at 2,500 meters (7,800 feet high) above sea level, making the Atacama not only the driest, but also the highest desert on earth. For this reason, the year-round climate is pleasant and the transparency of light, unique. The outlandish geography of volcanoes, salt flats and high altitude wetlands, has an unparalleled appeal.

Explorations in Atacama will allow you to become acquainted with the multiple aspects of this region: its geography, history, fauna, and geological features, volcanoes and ancient villages. Explorations have been designed to allow for gradual acclimatization to the altitude. Some excursions take place in the vicinity of San Pedro, between 2,500 and 3,000 meters (7,800 and 9,850 feet high) above sea level; others are at intermediate levels between 3,000 and 4,500 meters (9,840 and 13,120 feet); and the most demanding reach heights of up to 6,000 meters. Morning sightseeing tour of Lima, founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535 and called "City of Kings". Your guided tour will take you to see the most important sites of modern and colonial Lima. HOTEL RADISSON. (B)

 

DAY 09 –  LIMA-CUZCO

Transfer to the airport for flight to Cuzco. Reception and transfer to HOTEL SONESTA CUZCO. Afternoon city tour of Cuzco –at one time- Capital of the Inka Empire. Then, continue to the surrounding valley and ruins of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca-Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. (B)

 

DAY 10 –  CUZCO-MACHU PICCHU

Full day excursion via Vistadome train to Machu Picchu. Early morning transfer to the train station for your 3 1/2 hour train ride along the Urubamba river to Aguas Calientes, then by bus up to the ruins of Machu Picchu. Here your guide will explain the advanced world of the Inkas. Temples, palaces, towers and staircases are built into the side of the mountain –it is a very magnificent site. Late afternoon return to Cuzco by train and to hotel SONESTA CUZCO. (B) (Optional overnight in Machu Picchu upon request).

 

DAY 11 –  CUZCO

Day at leisure to explore Cuzco on your own. The city of Cuzco is like a wlaking museum –wherever you go- you will find remains of the Inka Empire and the Spanish Conquistadores. Also great place for shopping alpaca rugs, sweaters, gold, silver and beautiful colorful handicrafts. (B)

The tour proceeds to the heart of the city, the Plaza Sotomayor, a pleasant sanctuary, opposite the Maritime Authority.  Just beyond this is Muelle Prat, the pier complete with small crafts market. Lunch (not included) can be had at one of the many restaurants that border the beach; the perfect opportunity to sample the port’s famously fresh fish and seafood. For the afternoon, visit La Sebastiana, another of poet Pablo Neruda’s homes-turned-museums, ride one of the city’s many elevators, an effective mode of moving about this largely verticle port back at the turn of the century. Ascendor Artillería, built in 1898, is one of the oldest still in operation and offers a beautiful view of the ocean. DAY 05 Puerto Natales & Glaciers: 
Full day excursion by boat through the Ultima Esperanza fjord and visit the impressive Serrano and Balmaceda Glaciers.

The only access to this zone is by sailing through the Seno de Última Esperanza (Last Hope Sound). The 6,200 feet high Balmaceda mountain is part of the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park. Travelling to Balmaceda is a real treat. The journey starts at Puerto Natales pier.  From the ship you will see a good number of sea lions, cormorants, wild ducks, condors, seagulls and sea wolves colonies. Finally you will reach the Balmaceda glacier, where huge pieces of ice detach falling into the fjord waters......Then you will see the Serrano glacier,  where you can arrive by land next to a small lagoon formed by the de-icing activity.
On the return you will stop at local Estancia  where passengers have the chance to enjoy a delicious typical regional lunch. Arrive back in Puerto Natales about 5-6pm. Overnight in Puerto Natales.

DAY 06 Puerto Natales-Torres del Paine: 
Full day excursion to visit Torres del Paine National Park, World Biosphere Reserve. Visit Lake Grey, Salto Grande, Lake Nordenskjold, and Lake Pehoe. The impressive granite massif of the Paine complement the landscape. Overnight in Paine at LAS TORRES. (B, Box lunch)

ABOUT TORRES DEL PAINE: Torres del Paine National Park is a national park encompassing mountains, a glacier, a lake, and river-rich areas in southern Chilean Patagonia. The Cordillera del Paine is the centerpiece of the park. It lies in a transition area between the Magellanic subpolar forests and the Patagonian Steppes. The park is located 70 miles north of Puerto Natales and 194 miles north of Punta Arenas. Bernardo O'Higgins National Park is its neighbors to the west, while Los Glaciares National Park is located to the north in Argentine territory.

Ainsworth Bay – Tucker Islet 
At dawn, we continue navigating through Almirantazgo Sound until finally arriving near Marinelli Glacier in Ainsworth Bay, where we enjoy a walk to discover a beaver dam in the midst of a marvelous Magellanic forest. On the beach we observe a colony of elephant seals. Later we visit Tucker Islet, where we view colonies of Magellanic Penguins and Cormorants from the Zodiac boats. The islet’s penguins migrate in April; as a replacement we visit Brookes Bay, for a short walk to see a glacier.  (B,L,D)
DAY 05 THU. CRUISE

Pia Glacier – Glacier Alley 
We navigate through the main part of Beagle Channel to reach Pia Bay, where we disembark near Pia Glacier. We take a short hike to a lookout point with a spectacular view of the entire glacier tongue, stretching from high in the mountains all the way to the sea. After this unforgettable experience, we sail again along the northwest arm of Beagle Channel through majestic “Glacier Alley”: Spain, Romanche, Germany, Italy, France and Holland glaciers.  (B,L,D).
DAY 06 FRI. CRUISE
Cape Horn – Wulaia Bay
We sail through Beagle and Murray channels to reach and disembark in Cape Horn National Park (weather permitting). Cape Horn, on Hornos Island, is a sheer, 425-meter (1,394-foot) high rocky promontory at the point where the Atlantic and Pacific oceans merge. This mythical place is known as the “End of the Earth”; a visit is a singular privilege. The park was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in June 2005. 
In the afternoon, we go ashore in historic Wulaia Bay, once the site of one of the region’s largest aboriginal settlements. This area is also renowned for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography. We walk through a Magellanic forest of Lengas, Coigües, Canelos, ferns and other native vegetation to reach a lookout point. (B,L,D)

DAY 01: SUN. or WED. USA- SANTIAGO
Depart USA for Santiago, Capital of Chile. (Overnight flight)
 

DAY 02: MON. or THU.  SANTIAGO
Arrive in Santiago and transfer to hotel CROWN PLAZA. Afternoon sightseeing tour of this beautiful city visiting La Moneda Presidential Palace and Civic Center, O’Higgins Park, University of Chile, Santa Lucia Hill, Fine Arts Museum and San Cristobal hill.

 

DAY 03: TUE. or FRI.  SANTIAGO-P.ARENAS-P.NATALES-CRUISE

Transfer to the airport for flight to Punta Arenas where you will be met and transfer by van to Puerto Natales with transfer to Skorpios Terminal in Puerto Natales. 18:00 hours. The vessel sails from Skorpios terminal. Cruise through Seno de Ultima Esperanza, Almirante Montt Gulf, Angostura Kirke crossing, Morla Vicuña Pass,  and Union Channel. We continue to sail through the Collingwood and Sarmiento channels (B,D)

DAY 04: WED. or SAT. CRUISE

08:00 hours. Cruising Peel Fjord, and landing at Amalia Glacier. The ship approaches the Glacier. Panoramic view from the ship. 09:15 hours. We sail towards El Brujo Glacier. 11:00 hours. Arrival at El Brujo Glacier, weather and ice permitting, passengers may go ashore for a closer look at this glacier from a nearby rock. 12:30 hours. Departure for Calvo Fjord. 14:30 hours. Landing at Calvo Fjord with an excursion on the Capitán Constantino, an ice breaker, which will take us on a visit to the Fernando, Capitán Constantino and Alipio Glaciers, among others. In the course of this excursion we will visit seal colonies, approach condor and imperial cormorant nests. We will also stop at a glacier waterfall that courses down the Magellanic forest. 18:80 hours. We sail to De Las Montañas Fjord.(B,L,D)

DAY 05: THU. or SUN. CRUISE

08:00 hours. Arrival at De Las Montañas Fjord, where we can see five glaciers that fall from Cordillera Sarmiento into the sea, two of which are included in our tour. 10:00 hours. We land at Alsina Glacier, sailing through a small channel in special excursion boats, and then enter the bay of this small Glacier which abounds in colour and beauty. 12:00 hours. We continue to sail along the De Las Montañas Fjord. Our ship loads natural and pure water from a river that flows down the mountains. 16:00 hours. Visit to Bernal Glacier, trekking through a small oak forest, crossing the glacier's front and lateral moraines until we reach the base of this Glacier which has reached the end of its life-span. 18:00 hours. We sail from the De Las Montañas Fjord, cross Angostura Kirke. 21:00 hours. Farewell party, Captain's Dinner, dance. 12:00 hours. We reach the Skorpios Terminal in Puerto Natales.(B,L,D)

DAY 06:FRI. or MON.   CRUISE-TORRES DEL PAINE-SERRANO HOTEL  

09:30 hours. We land at the Skorpios Terminal. End of the Southern Ice Field Glaciers cruise. We will now depart to The Singular Hotel, located on a side of our Port or to the Rio Serrano Hotel in the Torres del Paine National Park, to discover the essence of this Patagonian land. Leave the metropolitan area heading towards the Pacific Ocean Coast  traveling across the Curacavi and Casablanca Valleys where you can admire all the Central Valley vineyard.  Then  arrive to Valparaíso, declared World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.  Famous for its buildings constructed on the hill slopes and its ancient funiculars, a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the harbor is observed from the Mirador 21 de Mayo. Afterward, we will visit the Garden City: Viña del Mar the most famous and visited beach in the Central Coast, with its beautiful parks and gardens. Day 4 SANTIAGO-PUNTA ARENAS-PUERTO NATALES-REMOTA

Transfer to the airport for flight to Punta Arenas, then by bus a four hour ride to Puerto Natales and finally  arrive at the  deluxe Hotel Remota. (B,D)

 

Day 5, 6, 7  HOTEL REMOTA 

This beautiful hotel is located in Puerto Natales, about 3-4 hours from Punta Arenas. It has  72 spacious double rooms, 344 ft2 each, including a private bath. Every room may add an optional bed for a child up to 12 years old. The Remota Spa, called SPOT (Total Leisure room), has a heated infinity pool, the largest in the region and its design has been subject in professional journals. The spa is based on the architecture of a Finish sauna, including an outdoor jacuzzi and a massage parlor run by a specialized massage therapist. The sum of all these features makes this great building a unique place to stay.
